Camas Ranch, a branch of Spring Creek Lodge Academy
Thompson Falls, Montana
Camas Ranch, a branch of Spring Creek Lodge Academy, is a specialty
school designed for 18 to 24-year-old young men. It is an independent campus
located on a 3,000+ acre-working ranch approximately 1½ hours from
Spring Creek Lodge Academy. Camas Ranch provides a highly structured environment
for your teen crossing into adulthood looking to make a changes in life.
Your teen entering Camas Ranch must be at least 18 years old at the
time of admission, and willing to participate in the entire program.
Education is very important at Camas Ranch. Your teen is set up on weekly
requirements to assist in attaining a high school diploma or to work
on college correspondence courses. If your teen is a high school graduate,
you are asked to set up book-based (not online) college correspondence
courses. Assistance in setting up these courses is provided by the Academic
Office at SCLA. Students are provided daily school time for academic goals
in this independent study setting.
Students at Camas Ranch are on a points and level system similar to SCLA and other Premier Schools. To ease the transition, students enter this program at level 3 with 1600 advancement points and graduate after completing all requirements of level 6. The personal growth aspect of the program requires students to successfully complete the Premier Seminar series. These seminars are held every 6-8 weeks at the main SCLA campus.
Individual and group therapy are offered to Ranch students through Cabinet
Mountain Mental Health. Therapists travel to Camas Ranch weekly to meet with
students who opt for these services.
The ranch option for 18-year-olds at SCLA is not a different program, but
just an enhancement of the current one. One of the reasons it has been effective
with our 18-year-old students is that they tend to feel less confined and many
feel that they are able to complete work that will be good experience later
in life.
Services
Camas Ranch primary focus is helping troubled teens deal with low self esteem and deals with the following issues: troubled teenagers, defiant teens, drug and alcohol abuse, teens with school problems and authority issues.
Tools
Camas Ranch offers many powerful tools to assist your teen in creating real and lasting changes. They includes powerful personal growth seminars, an academic curriculum tailored to your teen's educational needs, individualized and group therapeutic activities, a structured and disciplined environment, personal character building audio and video tapes and team building exercises and workshops.
Value
What is the value you would place on your teen's life? Think hard about the answer to this question. Is it $1,000 or $10,000 or $1,000,000? Is there any price you could place on your teen's life? In the next 50 years, how much will your teen contribute to your family and society? Will he or she become a senator, a president, found a successful nonprofit corporation? While we all hope that our children will live to their greatest potential, more often than not, it doesn't happen. You want to give your teen the best chance they can at achieving their dreams.
Attending Camas Ranch for a year will cost about the same as a luxury sedan. When all is said and done though, the only thing you have left in your life is your family. If your life is in shambles, your work a chaotic mess or your teenager's life is crumbling before your eyes, your worldly possessions no longer mean anything.
